Visitors & Visiting

On Saturday we cleaned our flat in the morning and then Max and Lilli went up to Doris and Al's in the afternoon for a beer. Christa and I walked up later on. Everyone met up there for a late lunch / early dinner. It was great as always. A huge feed of Hamburger Helper which is pasta with meat and a cheese sauce, salad, and bread cooked by Opa Al. Yum yum! Lilli ate with us - on the boob. :)

On Sunday morning we were woken by visitors - at 9.45am!!! Hahaha. Who has the best baby in the world??? Us!!! How spoilt are we?! Technically we were woken at 8.45 though because my Dad rang then to say hi but we went back to sleep after talking to him. He has been getting his racecar ready to go to Australia in September for the Australian Muscle Car Masters again (we went over in 2007). So our visitors were Ted and his daughter Sophie. Ted and his wife Gaby are friends of the family. Ted is originally from New Orleans so obviously he speaks english. We had a lovely visit and they brought heaps of presents including something for Max and I so we were all spoilt! Max got a bottle of whiskey and I got a box of Reber chocolates (famous chocolates from Bad Reichenhall). Lilli got some really great presents - a gorgeous little outfit, a box set of Winnie the Pooh books in english and a box set of 12 of the first ever Little Golden Books!! They are a collectors edition and in new condition!!! Ted and Gaby were given them for Sophie when she was little but as they lived Germany and were reading to her only in German at the time, they have never been read so basically they are brand new. Wow.

Ted, Sofi, Lilli, & Mummy

In the afternoon Christa and Doris took Lilli for a walk and Max and I caught up on some computer stuff and then met them up at Doris' house. Lilli enjoyed her walked but didn't stay in her stroller so it was lucky that we had given them the frontpack just in case. She enjoyed walking around the lake with Oma in her frontpack and was very well behaved the whole time. Then she had a sleep in her stroller and had pretty much just woken up when we got there. It was so gorgeous when we walked round the corner and she saw us, she was all excited and had a great big smile on her face. Gorgeous little girl! I gave her a feed and she was as good as gold.

Barbera putting Lilli's feet on the grass - check out the look on her face! :D

We decided to order Chinese for dinner and so everyone came up and we put in our order to be delivered. 9pm was approaching and still no chinese so we phoned them back and the rotten sods hadn't even started our order as they were busy and then asked if we could we come and pick it up instead of having it delivered!! Needless to say Max told him where to go and we won't be having chinese from the Lucky Palace again!! What a dummy - we had ordered about 100 euros worth of food! Max and I decided that we had better just get Lilli home to bed so we left with no dinner but then called friends who have a restaurant and asked if Max could pick up some schnitzel and chips. We shared our meals with Christa and her Max as they had missed out on the Chinese too! Next time we will all just order direct from Toni & Ulli!!!

Yesterday I was trying to quickly make a banana cake and just threw the ingredients in without really taking much notice and when I had finished the mixture I thought it looked a bit runny but chucked it in the pan anyway and into the oven as Lilli was awake and not wanting to be on her playgym. The cake came out moist and sort of cheese cakey in texture if you can imagine that - it definitely wasn't a cake! I was gutted. Then I clicked that the recipe said 2 cups of milk instead of 2 tablesppons!! As it turns out it was still yummy but is more of a desert than a cake. Everyone loved it!! LOL. Max finished work early so we sorted some of the stuff we have to do for his immigration application. There is so much to do! Lilli was squealing and chatting while we did it and then trying to help Mummy type on the computer. Hahaha!

Tonight I cooked a tuna casserole and we ate over at Christa's place with little Max, Doris, and Christa. They all loved my tuna casserole which was great. Lilli was playing in her bouncer/rocker and having a great time while we were eating and then she said MA!!! I was like, oohh Lilli just said ma. Max looked at me like I've been sitting there everyday going Mama Mama and I said uh uh, I don't do :)that, and she isn't saying it like Mama she is just vocalising the sound ma. So he starts saying to her Baba which is what babies say for Papa when they are learning to talk over here. Hehe. So our clever little girl is now saying Ma, Ga, and Na. :D After dinner I had a bath with Lilli and we played with her little yellow rubber ducky and her fish thermometer. While we were in the bath Max jumped on the scales with Lilli's towel in his hands so that when she got out of the bath he could hop back on the scales and get her naked weight. She was 8.6 kilos - it's funny because at dinner Christa was saying that she thought Lilli must be close to 9 kilos now. :)

Lilli's other achievements:

She is rotating her little ankles. So cute! She stretches her little legs straight out and winds her little feet round and round. Gorgeous!

She sits on her own for quite a few seconds at a time.

Lilli and I play the high five game (give me 5, up high, to the side, down low). She does all the actions - clever little darling. We started playing this game a few weeks ago and I forgot to mention it until now.

Weight: 8.6kg!!!

Quick visit to the Doctor & More Dinners & BBQ

It's been a hectic week as usual with me trying to spend time with everyone before we have to go back home to NZ.

Basically we have been doing the usual, walking everyday and visiting. :) On Tuesday afternoon we walked up to Doris' as Monica and her Aunty came to Doris' with Monica's little baby, Tobi, to bring a present for Lilli. Monica is from up Irlberg as well but wasn't able to come when all the Irlberg ladies came before. Gosh Lilli was not having a great day though and she basically cried for an hour in the stroller (I walked around and around the village to try to get her to sleep) on the way up refusing to go to sleep at all. She was soooo tired and I was getting really annoyed. As soon as I took her out of the stroller she would stop crying and be happy as. Little bugger. I couldn't keep her out of the stroller though as it was really hot and sunny and she is sheltered from the sun in the stroller but not if I carry her in the frontpack so she had to stay in there. Honestly though, I felt like parking her in the village and walking away! Hahaha. I thought when I got to Doris' I could leave her there and go for a walk but as I got up to the house she went to sleep and had a rest in the stroller finally. She woke in time for when Monica, her aunt, and tobi arrived and it was lovely - we had lots of fun playing with both babies. It's amazing how similar they look! Honestly they look like they are related. We were laughing about it. Monica is pregnant with her second baby - she is 6 months pregnant and Tobi is 8 months old! Hahaha. tobi will be almost 1 year old when baby number 2 arrives. She looks fantastic. So Lilli got a shorts & top set, a summer all in one, a little teeshirt & overtop for when she's about 18 months old, and a duvet cover set! Very spoilt again!!

Here are a couple of photos of the little ones.

Don't they look similar. :)

On Wednesday I walked up to Doris' and Max met us up their after work. We ate dinner and chatted before heading back home to shower Lilli and get her ready for bed.

On Thursday we had a BBQ here at our house and even Max's Nana was here which was great. Barbera and Leo came down and all the boys came too. It was great. Lilli was so well behaved. She loves to party. Hehe. So after dinner I said to Max maybe we should get Lilli christened while we're here and then do a naming ceremony in NZ. She will have Onkel Bert as Godfather here in Germany and then a set of Godparents in NZ. Max's Nana is over the moon as she has been saying to me from when I first arrived that we should be getting Lilli blessed - it's really important to her. Barbera is really excited as well so I am glad we have decided to do it. It's looking like we will have the Christening next Saturday but we are waiting to make sure that Albert can be here as he is the Godfather!

Yesterday Lilli and I hung out with Max's Nana for a while then went walking. As we were heading home Doris called to ask if I would like to go up for an early dinner so I shot home and grabbed Lilli's nappy bag and we walked up there again. I have to say that by the time we got there I was completely soaked in sweat and exhausted because I'd already been walking for about 40 minutes before she called and boy it was a hot day yesterday. Dinner was to die for! Al had made a yummy nectarine and melon sauce to go with the slow cooked pork we had, and we had carrots, garlic bread, onion, & garlic with it. Yum! As usual I ate way too much. Hahaha. We walked home at about 7.30pm. Max had to work at another job after work yesterday so he didn't get home until 8.30pm. Was a quiet night at our place last night! :)

Here's a photo of some of the outfits we bought from Stummer the other day. The photo really doesn't do them justice though.

Here's a photo of her bed with the mosquito net on it.

And this one's of Lilli in the cute outfit Cuzzy Keren bought her before we left NZ.

I nearly forgot to mention that we wizzed off to the doctor briefly on Thursday afternoon. Lilli had been waking at night and was grizzly and unsettled during the day for about 3 days. Her fontanelle was slightly raised so I thought it best to get her checked out. The doctor said she is fine and he said that the fontanelle is ok and that it is up because of all the crying she did. He said it should settle back down soon. So maybe it was the full moon that had her a bit funny for a couple of days??? Anyway she is back to her normal self now and has been sleeping through again. I guess it could have been her gums as well but the fact that her fontanelle was raised made me want to be sure.

Busy few days!!!

Isn't this a gorgeous photo!!

Tuesday, we had the party for Lilli with all the ladies from Irlberg (Doris' street) and it was a great success. We had a lot of fun and Lilli was so funny! She was sitting up with us at the table and laughing and squealing - trying to keep up with the chattering ladies I think. Haha, so cool. The cakes turned out beautiful and man they were yummy! :) The ladies all put in for a gift certificate for Lilli at Stummer which is the shop where we have bought clothes for Lilli before. The gift cert was for 130 euros!!! Wow. So lucky.

On Wednesday we went to Chiemsee with Barbera for the afternoon. It was just beautiful. We relaxed, ate some salame with bread, and basically just enjoyed the lovely weather. It was nice and cool as there was a light breeze coming off the lake.

On Wednesday night I went in to check on Lilli and there was a mosquito sitting on her forehead by her hairline sucking her blood!!! Arrrgh! I got the little bugger but wondered how many more there would be around. In the morning I noticed that she had also been bitten on her hand. Damn it. Then on Friday morning I found another four bites on her - two more on her forehead, one on the inside of her wrist, and another one on her hand! Arrrggghhh. Bloody mosquitos!!! I am going to get a mosquito net!

On Friday night after Lilli went to bed Max and I left the monitor with Christa right next door and went to a party. Louis was having a roof shout for his workshop that Max helped build and everyone was there to celebrate. I had 2 beers and felt pretty sozzled. Hahaha. Louis' parents gave us a gorgeous little top/dress for Lilli as well. We had a great time and got home at about 1am. I checked on Lilli and she was sleeping like a little angel. Ohhh.

Yesterday, Saturday, Max worked in the morning so Doris and I took Lilli shopping at the Stummer store. It was great! We got about 14 different outfits for the 130 euros and 1 outfit that Oma Doris got. Lilli is so lucky! Then I quickly gave her a drink and we went to BabyWalz where we got another squeaky soft toy and a string toy set for Lilli's carseat, an umbrella for her stroller, some car window sun shades, and a mosquito net!!! Ha! Those little buggers will no longer be feasting on my baby! :)

Later that afternoon we went up to a medieval festival in Piding which is about 5 minutes drive from our place. Toby and Emu were going to be up there dressed in medieval gear so we thought we'd go and check it out. We put Lilli in the frontpack and wandered around for a while then went to the main eating and drinking area and got a mead. Wow it's strong stuff and after half a glass I felt quite hot! haha. We also ate a steak in a bun and then went to find Toby and Emu. It was cool and Lilli was a little darling as usual. She happily looked around at everyone and everything and when she was tired she just nodded off for a while in the frontpack. So cute. We bumped into Tina (Simone's sister who had her baby one month before I had Lilli) and her family. Her little girl is really big too and she has heaps of hair. She made Lilli look bald! Haha. Tina has had to cut her hair a couple of times so it doesn't get in her eyes! She did have heaps of hair when she was born and I remember the last time I saw her I was blown away by her size and how much hair she had. I have to say though that Lilli didn't look small next to her this time. :D

Tobi & Emu with Tobi's slave. Hahaha.

Ohh, the baby's asleep in her frontpack.

Our little family.

Lilli & Daddy at the bar.

The eating and drinking area.

Today we hung at home - I took Lilli down and we played on a blanket on the grass for an hour or so. She's really noticing her play blanket and all the things on it now so it wa fun. Then we walked up to the village and got an icecream to eat on the way to Oma and Opa's place for a visit. It was nice and relaxing just blobbing on the couches and chatting.

Lilli's stats:

Length: 67cm

Head circ: 42.5cm

Thigh: 27cm!!!

Bicep: 18cm!!

Waist: 48cm!!!

Must weigh her too for next time. She is grabbing her toes all the time now and can even sit for a second on her own. The only thing at the moment is that she has gone back to not wanting to go to bed at night without having a big cry and a bit of a performance. I hope she comes right again because it is frustrating. :) But, as I always say, she's so good once she's asleep that really it's just a minor thing.

A day with Oma, Another BBQ, & a visit

On Saturday Lilli and I went up and spent the day with Oma Doris. We cooked a yummy lunch and baked a cake. max came up after he finished work and then we took Lilli home. She was great and had a fun day. On Sunday we went back up to Oma & Opa's for a BBQ which was awesome as usual. Al does the best spare ribs on the BBQ! Yum yum and our little angel slept while we ate which was great.

After lunch Max and I went to visit his old supervisor and his family.

We stayed there until about 7.30pm. Lilli was great as usual, such a little trooper. We came home and showered and popped her into bed at 9pm. Unfortunately she woke up at 11.30pm for some reason - I figure either she was still hungry as she did have a big drink, or maybe her sore gums woke her. I put her back down after her feed and she went back to sleep but then woke again an hour later. Max went in to her and brought her in to me, I settled her again and put her back to bed but she woke again. I was starting to think that it would go on all night so I decided to let her cry for a bit and see if she would self settle. She did (phew!) and didn't wake again until 8am!

Today Lilli and I walked up to Oma & Opa's again because we were making cakes for tomorrow when we have all the ladies from the street coming to Doris' to bring a gift for Lilli. We made 3 gorgeous cakes that I hope to be able to remember how to make for when we come back home. I can't wait to eat them tomorrow!! Then I helped Doris get some melons ready for the punch that she is making. Should be fun.

Lilli's achievements:

She is starting to grab her toes

She reaches out to grab anything within her reach (including glasses, bottles, plates!)

She hugs all the time now

She ga's.

She imitates facial expressions perfectly.

Our little darling is 5 months old!!

Our little one is now 5 months old!!! She has been blowing bubbles since before we left NZ but I forgot to mention in previous posts that she started doing raspberries a week ago! So cute. When we are in the shower together Lilli blows raspberries against my shoulder and when I sing she sings along with me (usually we sing 'Singing in th rain'). Her sense of humour is great & she loves to play & have fun. When you go up to her she reaches out with both hands to touch your face, soooo cute. :D

Today we went up to Barbera's for breakfast and then loaded up the stroller to head off to the local lake - Hoglworther see. Lilli didn't want to be in the stroller though so I put her in the frontpack for the walk there. We sat in the shade by the kiddie's sectioon and played games and listened to all the kids playing in the water. Lilli and I dipped our legs in but that was it because the water was a bit too cold for her. She enjoyed it once she got over the first cold shock but when I was dangling her feet in she cried so I sat her on my leg and dropped down in the water a bit and she was good. :) We stayed there until about 4pm when Doris came & gave us a ride home. Thank goodness because it was over 30 degrees!

We popped home to change & headed off to Hubert's 50th dinner. Max went up the Staufen with the boys for the night. At Hubert & Gabby's we ate & chatted. Lilli was the star as usual and Thomas (Max's Dad) was there so we got to meet him and also Toby, Max's younger brother that we did'nt meet at Hanne's the other day. Lilli kept looking at Thomas and I think it was because she could see Max in him. Cute. She's so on to it! She spent time hanging out with Oma Birgit while Oma & I ate dinner then hung out with Thomas for a while. She was having a lot of fun - we could hear her giggling & talking & sqealing. :)

After dinner we came home and Oma passed Lilli into the shower with Mummy then she got her ready for bed. We did our last feed of the day and Lilli was in bed by 9.30.
